Drury XC Results from MSU Classic

DRURY MEN: Sophomore Geoff Hughes finished third overall with a time of 27:10 to lead the Drury Panthers' cross country squad to a second-place finish Saturday morning in the three team field of the Missouri State University Classic. Drake captured the team title with 24 points after placing individuals in first and second place. Drury was second with 43 points and UMKC rounded out the field with 72 points. Drury freshman Jaime Villa Zapatero (27:16) was fifth and classmate Steven Busch (28:14) placed 10th.

DRURY WOMEN: Senior Elizabeth Hurford finished in 12th place and the Drury University women's cross country team was fourth in the annual Missouri State Classic Saturday morning. Host Missouri State won the team title with 20 points while Drake finished second (48) and UMKC third (87). Drury finished with 91 points, with freshman Tia Young second among the Panther efforts with her 13th-place finish.
